One of my favorite things growing up was the game called MASH. Mansion, Apartment, Shack, House. I have distinct middle school memories of sitting in the humongous backseat of my mom’s Cadillac and playing this game with my friend, Evans. Do you remember the game? It was a fortune telling game where you would list 4 potential husbands, and other major life decisions. That was fun and games, but there is something about a vision of the future.
The skill of planning for my financial future played a vital role in my own divorce. Through 20 years of experience as a CFP®️ and recently, a CDFA®️, I have seen so many brilliant businesswomen and hardworking moms unnecessarily suffer when they encounter a season of divorce. I believe that if a woman is proactively and thoughtfully prepared for life’s inevitable difficulties, she can change the course of her life and her family’s.
